Nah...orange, yellow, lavender, and gray. A year from now, this will be the view from my studio windows. Realizing this dream is becoming reality woke up my creative side!
A month ago, I reported that my writing was on sabbatical. I'm pleased to announce that I've actually written something new in the last few weeks.
Just as this amazing "author journey" started, with a contest, a contest got me going again. I keep tweaking a silly little story, but I've had a lot of fun with it. I'll submit it in a week or two and see what happens.
Regardless of the results, it feels marvelous to have words on a page come to life. Equally marvelous was the book signing that took place at Sheridan Stationery Books and Gallery yesterday.
I met some fascinating people, including a nine-year-old girl who wanted to meet "a real writer" for her birthday. Her parents drove her in from eastern Wyoming, stayed overnight in a hotel, and brought her to my book reading yesterday. I hope I lived up to her expectations! She asked a lot of questions and seemed genuinely interested in the writing process.
She's my new inspiration! If young readers enjoy my books, I'm going to keep writing them.
Stay warm -- it's the perfect weather to curl up with a good book!
